Beauty is everywhere

My art is a practice, a contemplation primarily of nature’s delicate and harsh beauty that is all around me, everywhere I go.

The natural world is shaped by wind, rain, fire and ice and how the cosmos interacts with our planet. There are layers over time. In the same way my inner landscape is shaped by the interchange between myself and the world around me. These are what inform my work. Working abstractly helps me to express things that I do not necessarily have language for, things that I can only express through color, texture, shape and line. I always start without a plan which allows for a conversation between myself and the art. As I respond to what is emerging and showing up, new layers are created. Everything that is there is needed for the full life cycle of the art. Everything is needed to tell the full story. In this way, my art is a practice, a contemplation.
